We are located in the Natural Reserve White Carpathians, in particular in the part called "Horňácko".
The village Hrubá Vrbka is interesting mainly with a grouping of barns from 18th and 19th centuries made from stone and mud bricks (declared cultural heritage). In the 1980s was in the village also built an Eastern Orthodox Chapel of St. Gorazd to commemorate the bishop (Matěj Pavlík, *1879, +1942), who was born in Hrubá Vrbka and during the WWII was executed by Nazis, for concealing the group of parachustists, who had participated in the assassination of the high-ranking Nazi official R. Heydrich.
